Tuesday 4 January 2011

Firstly, everyone from the Studio would like to wish you the very best for 2011 and hope to see you all down on tower street sometime soon.

Well the snow may have held the country to stand still, but behind the science here at the Studio,  we have all been busy putting together a bustling program for you all to enjoy during the new year. Begining with Bromhads Jacket on friday the 27th January.  Part of the emergence of the Sheffield music scene, at around the time that Arctic Monkeys and Milburn managed to break into the mainstream, Bromheads Jacket waded behind these acts, without a care for fame and glory. Unlike Arctic Monkeys, Bromheads have defined their style and managed to maintain it in a ever changing music scene, and unlike Milburn, the band have stuck together, all be it currently as a two piece after losing a member. Tickets for this show are priced at £5 advanced or £6 on the door.

Friday 28th January sees the first tribute band of the year preforming at the studio with the Brian Adams Experence. With a vast repertoire of material covering his entire career, the band reproduces a Bryan Adams concert to perfection from the heartfelt ballads of 'Heaven' and 'Everything I Do' to the fist waving rock of 'Can't Stop This Thing We Started', 'Summer of '69', 'Run to You' and 'The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You'.  This show is priced at £6 advanced or £7 on the door.

Over the year the Studio has held many charity events for other good causes and as The Studio is a charity itself we thought it was about time we held something for ourselves! Thus the 29th January will see the studio hold its own fundraiser. The night will feature a line up of local artists all giving their time and performing for free. All ticket money goes to The Studio charity to help provide access to recording, rehearsal and training facilities for the wider community. Admistion for this show is £5.

Also don't forget tickets are now available for both Ansley Listers and Sham 69's April preformences. Both these show are likely to sell out so make don't miss out by getting tickets early.
